And here's MY first finished print for my Silkscreen Printing class!
The project was using simple wax-paper stencils and screens to create a self portrait of yourself, whether representational or realistic :D I obviously went with representational hahaha :3c
I really diddnt want to explain to anyone in the class why I chose this idea. but I really wasnt my first choice to be honest, my teacher just loved this one out of all the sketches I went over with him, and he's a pretty cool dude so I took his advice and decided to go with it! :D
as delightfully morbid as it may be, I was glad nobody in the class decided to ask why the hell anyone could relate themselves to a run-over opossum @__@ I think that would have been pretty darn awkward! haha! XD
and I'm glad i went with the idea regardless, I learned alot through the process and I had alot of fun doing it, and to be honest, despite the subject being a self portait, I love how it came out! :D there are a TON of printing errors, but Its not too darn bad for my first ever try at screenprinting! ;D

thanks! :3c
and yeah, I think the control/lack of control is an interesting aspect of this type of printing
I think I wasd just sad because I kept screwing up at least one of my prints each time, and so each one has its own little mistake
so none of them came out looking the same, when in printing, you are usually going for uniformity, and I'm a horrible perfectionist! XD
but I do love when things go horribly wrong for me and yet somehow something fantastic comes out of it! :D

Thanks! :D
the composition really came out to be a bit shorter than I wanted it to be,
but I was constrained by the amount of paper we had available because our paper orders got misplaced and alot of it was on backorder
but I do love how smooth the finished products come out looking, screenprinting is just so much fun! a hell of alot of work...... but fun! XD
