I used to have lucid dreams when I was a teenager. Theyre very bizarre because you become conscious whilst yoru sleeping so you then have free choice to manipulate the dream. Thats not actually whats going on here, because even though Gem is aware, she cant actually control whats happening
I've had exactly one fully lucid dream. It was AWESOME!
I've had a number of semi-lucid dreams where I became vaguely aware of an ability to influence the course of events. I'm usually just too tired, though.
The trick is to pick an association a "few seconds" ahead of where you want the dream to go. Attempting to control a dream in real time simply doesn't work.
