Name: Allsorts
Sex: Female/Filly
Age: Teenager? Somewhere between the CMC and the mane six's ages.
Species: Unicorn, though she'll swear she's an earth pony.
Pelt Color: Black
Mane/Tail Color & Style: Sugar pink/baby blue/canary yellow sections that alternate throughout. Tail colors “twist” around her tail. Both mane and tail are fairly long, with the ends formed into large snail-shell-like curls. Forelock appears to slant over her eyes, with the “part” originating by whichever ear is closest to the viewer, a heavy pink curl drooping past her snout. Thick yellow curls frame her face on either side; blue ones hover just below on either side of her neck. Tail is held high and ends in a single multi-colored curl.
Eye Color: Baby blue
Cutie Mark: N/A
Physique: Small but leggy for a filly. Half a head shorter than the average mare.
Relationship Status: Single
Orientation: Heterosexual
Origin: Manehatten, currently living in Ponyville
Occupation: Confectioner at Sugarcube Corner
Motivation: Finding her cutie mark; her whole family, to her knowledge, has candy-based marks, so she assumes she simply
has to find “her” specialty recipe and has been using Mrs. Cake's kitchen to that end while making a profit.
Likes: Fiddling with recipes, the smell of liquorice, string-based music
Dislikes: Unicorn-based magic, complete darkness, bitter food
Personality: Typically fairly quiet, though she loves being part of the crowd. Plays up a “posh” sort of personality to match her “high class” upbringing in Manehatten, but is prone to slipping up, particularly if she's at work. Seems wary of unicorns, keeping them at a distance and acting business-formal with them, even when not on the clock. Strongly prefers the company of earth ponies.
History: Allsorts's family is best known for their “Confetti Burst” brand of sweets, named for her great-great-great-...-great-grand-dam who started up a candy shop in Old Manehatten, selling a particular type of sweet that only she could make. The business grew from her humble shop to become an extremely well-known brand in the larger cities of Equestria, employing most of her children and the following generations along with other talented confectioner ponies. Generations since are proud to be successful earth ponies, each with a cutie mark based on their specialty recipe; their line has been “pure” ever since. . . until the birth of Allsorts. The tiny filly was born with a barely-noticeable bump on her forehead. It was explained away as something that she would grow out of.
She didn't.
As she aged, the bump grew into a horn-lump. It was much smaller than the other unicorn fillies in her class, so her mother covered it with all manners of hats and bows and continued to raise her as an earth pony. Due to her stunted horn, Allsorts is incapable of using magic in the conventional unicorn ways (telekinesis, winking, etc.), and thanks to her family's views on their bloodline, she simply refuses to use magic at all. This is problematic, as unicorn cutie marks are commonly linked to the unicorn's specific magical talent. Until the filly comes to terms with who and what she is, she will remain markless.
Somewhere buried in the Manehatten archives are documents containing profiles of past residents, including details that have long since been forgotten by their families. Confetti Burst is no exception. There's a reason she wears a hat in all of her photos, after all.
Once she deemed herself old enough, the filly struck out on her own in an attempt to “find herself,” eventually ending up in Ponyville. Her original plan was to cook out of the little apartment she managed to rent above one of the storefronts, but she was quickly picked up by Mrs. Cake and absorbed into Sugarcube Corner to expand on their candy counter. Though the circumstances behind her employment are suspicious at best (how could Mrs. Cake know about her ability to cook candy?), the little filly is far too focused on earning her cutie mark to really think about it.
She currently works in the kitchen at Sugarcube Corner, only interacting with the customers when absolutely necessary.
