Squirt boater. Rather fitting in this case. Myself, I prefer sea / expedition kayaks. Shorter, wider boats are much easier to turn quickly. A critical factor in whitewater paddling.

I'd say he's in his backyard, getting ready to do some repairs on his boat. Tore up the underside pretty good on a run down a Class 3 last weekend and need to smooth out his hull a bit before he and his buddies head down to Chile for a totally sick trip down the Futaleufu.
