Well it's here. I never thought the day would actually come when I could finally finish this up.
I originally intended to make this a short little sketch gift over the the course of one weekend...and as always I screwed that up. The simplest thing turned into this mass ass project...lol I never change.
Yes I'm sure just about everyone knows who this lovely lady here is.
This is non other than
lunacatta 's fursona character Luna.
She's an old friend of mine, whom I care about dearly and this is my special little surprise gift to her!
Despite knowing her for a long time...I've never gotten the proper chance to really draw something special for her. And now I've decided for once I'm going to stop being stupid...and change all of that, starting with this picture right here. So that alone makes it special I guess you could say.
So over the summer I decided I would put my all into this one considering whom it was for, and I hope the results came out alright!
LunaCatta, formerly known as
lunadarkgoddes, has a very unique and lovely character. As far as I know, her sona has gone through many changes over the years. But her design and essential "heart" of her character has remained largely the same. This is her latest incarnation: her sona is a Ring Tailed Lemur Demoness (Not a dragon, alright?). Since I originally drew the basis of this in July, I essentially added more details on to make her more accurate to her new design.
I think I dropped the ball a bit when it came to the shading around the mouth as a Lemur should have...she kinda looks like she's grown a 5 o clock shadow! Dx
But for the most part I hope I've gotten most things right...she doesn't wear her collar anymore so this is probably the last time I'll draw her with one.
Anyway this is something special for her...and to be honest I should have done something like this long ago. I hope this makes up for that a bit. <3
This was done over 3 months of on and off work, with a Papermate #2 mechanical pencil on blank photo paper.

I think the hair was my fave part as well...and I actually think the snout came out the worst, but I'm so happy to know you think otherwise.
I personally think making gifts is an awesome way to practice drawing things for friends you care about or just anyone in general, you included. Besides it's fun to try new things and expand a bit more! So it's a good way to improve your style.
Anyway thank you so much...I promised myself I wouldn't ramble on like usual. Thank you so much for your comment, I'm glad I could finally draw something for you after all this time! <3
