I really like this picture, I guess because I feel as if I can relate to it. Like... being in a good situation (such as being in the arms of a beautiful person that cares for you) and yet still feeling sad. And it sucks to feel that way x.x That probably isn't what you were intending to convey in this picture, but it's what I see, because that's what I've felt too many times. The next time I feel like that I should look at this picture to remind myself that the good things are definitely there...

Uhm, crap...*sheds a tear* I dont mean to be the anonymous poster, but uhm, seeing this pic really reminds me of my mom. Its such a very sentimental picture you have drawn, to evoke such emotion. I really think that is amazing, and seeing it is like a memory plucked from my head. Whenever i feel bad, i always get a hug from my mom, just like him. And yes, heh, she's just like her too. Thank you for drawing this, it makes me really appreciate my mother more.

The duality of emotion is so powerful here. She's doing all that she can, and you can tell that he knows that, but everything about him looks so defeated. It's like he's trying to be strong but he doesn't know how to be, and that smile is her way of telling him that he it's okay to feel weak. That's what I see in it, anyway.
