This one's for
Jvago as thanks for his donation. (Details here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2708860/ )
The original was fairly simple, comprised mainly of a series of loops. It was surprisingly tricky to work on in spite of its simplicity, though, due to the different layers of sound being added on top of each other. There's only so much you can do with three melodic channels.
I think my favorite part in this is the breakdown in the middle of the track where the waveform of the custom wave channel goes through a rapid series of changes to get a funky sounding effect.

You did an extremely awesome job on this! I really like all your chiptunes (and other music, just sayin' your chiptunes are the bomb too.)
I really appreciate it and honestly I'm shocked, I had no idea you'd be doing all four and a half minutes of it!
I am sorry it was tricky to work with but you did an amazing job, really!
I hope you get all the things you need to stay in school and well fed this month and the months after, man.

I'm glad you like it!
Doing the whole thing wasn't that hard, really. It consisted of so many repeating patterns that there was a lot of copy and paste. The real tricky part was figuring out which parts needed to be cut out to incorporate new elements without making it feel like too much was removed.

This song actually gets mixed into other songs a lot, including a remake for another character that's significantly shorter but has a really interesting breakdown and finish. I actually prefer that mix of the song... but I picked this mix because it's the classic one.
I picked it because I knew the structure of the song was repetitive and simple too. I get what you're saying through about cutting parts out, because of the limits of the gameboy, correct? You did a fantastic job at that part. (And, well, every part of it.)
Chiptunes are a big influence, apart from orchestral music and jazz, in homestuck music. The song already reminded me of a gameboy. That's why I chose it! I thought the repetitive drums would sound good in gameboy sounds. (Everything sounds good as gameboy sounds.)
blah blah Tansunn you really do a great job at chiptunes and music thank you I hope your schooling is awesome

Not to be a fanboy or anything but, yeah. It has animations that include music. It also just had lots of music contributed to it.
