Sarah is a thief. She's an excellent pickpocket, and she's not too bad with a set of lock picks. She's subtle enough to slip into places without being noticed, and she's fast on her feet when she has to be. She isn't in the least bit ashamed of what she does, either. When you live in a city where the poor are treated as vermin and where young girls are enslaved every day, on the flimsiest excuses, there are certain things you must do to simply survive. Fortunately for her victims, Sarah's own specialized sense of morality is quite strong. She only ever takes what she needs to survive and she will not physically harm another person except in self defense. She has been known to give her last dollar to those who need it worse than she does, especially the street children.
mabarial wanted to see more of Sarah, and this gallery certainly needs more skunks, so here she is. Wearing clothes for a change, too. You've got to have somewhere to stash the shinies after you've taken them.

I never learn to not comment while falling asleep. So bear with me if I'm babbling or saying inappropriate things!
It's lovely to see another commission of Sarah, and I wasn't expecting one so quickly after saying you were going to get more soon! It's definitely a more than pleasant surprise to see one of your less drawn girls steal away the spotlight, if only for a little while. She certainly is stealing it, too, no doubt about that! The expression in the piece is wonderful, and the body language does make her look very circumspect. The way her hands are positioned give it a very nervous feel, but their positioning is suspicious enough to think that she might have already made off with something, palming it close in her hands.
Of course, that's just the suspicious side of my brain! It comes with knowing the type, I think!
I like how the thinness of her shoulders and the definition of her structure there really sells that she's been through tough times on the street, and your girls always do look lovely regardless of how their built. You always know just the right artist to commission for a character, and I really like how the artist drew the lower part of her legs. The tufts of fur there are adorable! I also like the top she is wearing, and the style of her tail, too.
Send the artist my compliments. It's a lovely piece. ^.^

You know, I could have sworn I answered your comment on this piece. I really am very sorry I didn't! I really don't know how it slipped my mind.
But I'm really glad you like my Sarah enough to want to see more of her. She's actually one of my favorite characters, for all that I very rarely get any pictures done of her. She and Catherine, her girlfriend, were probably the two characters I had the most fun writing for in my second novel, and I have plans to write at least one story specifically around the two of them. If I can ever get it together to do so.
Thank you so much for all your really kind comments. I really am very fond of this piece, both for Sarah's furtive look and how well the artist captured her overall appearance. She really does look like she belongs on the streets, without being in any way a cartoon or an exaggeration. I'm particularly happy with the clothes. I was kind of afraid they might turn out a bit too stripperific, but they look ragged and worn without really being specifically sexual, which is what I was hoping for. She's not trying to show off, after all.
Anyway. I never learn how to avoid commenting when I'm falling asleep, either. Or, apparently, how to respond to comments in a timely manner. So I apologize again for how late this is, and for making very little sense in the process, but thanks again for your comments!

*giggles* You should know by now that you never have to apologize for any late responses, or really anything, for that matter!
Sarah really does have to be my favorite of your girls, and together with her girl Catherine I think they have a pretty good running for best couple. So I'm glad to hear that there are going to be more stories of theirs! I'm still gladly anticipating your second novel, too. I find that books or passages that the author had the most fun writing tend to be the best, so that only makes me more excited over it!
I still think this is a wonderful piece, and Porin is an amazing artist. It's a shame I haven't see anything from them in a couple of months! I suppose my mature filter might be to blame for that, though. I don't think her clothing looks sexual at all, either, although it's hard for me to tell what that is sometimes!
I always love discussing your pieces, though. Thanks for the response! And it made perfect sense!
Hope you are well.
