The magnifying lens tool is my best friend. But I think in this case 20% of the leaves are texture.

Oh dear! That detail is so lovely! I really like the lighting that you've incorporated into the picture. It really gives the picture a good feel to it. I especially love the trees, they actually look like trees, haha.

The ungals also look like they're actually part of the picture, usually when people draw characters in environments, they look out of place or like they don't belong there, so good job with that!

Painting everything on one layer over its rough color sketch actually helps a lot with the problem of having characters sticking out like a sore thumb.

Yeah, that's my problem. Well, I'm not very good at painting, but I'm also not good at keeping everything in one layer.
