Specialty: Fulguration - A spell that imbues her sword with holy power, enabling her to strike foes from afar with a wave of holy energy.


Jessica Solent was born as the daughter of a humble farmer family, some leagues south of Chalon sur Sauldre, the capital of the house Avoirdupois. Though her father had wished for her to find a proper husband and continue the farm, Jessica passed that duty on to her sister and two brothers. Being more fascinated by the Light and the Church of S'allumer she chose the way of the cloth and became a priestess.

Jessica struggled through the various initiation rites of the Ardentine Factionnaire and learned as much as she could, but after some years she simply had to admit that she was not meant to be preaching in a chapel or church. She was not good with words and always liked to exercise and keep her body in shape.
Since she was gifted with good constitution and considerable strength she chose to leave the ranks of the priests and spread the word of S'allumer in other ways. She enlisted to the ranks of the fighting branch of the Ardentine Factionnaire, swapped ink and quill with sword and shield and became a zealous paladin.

Jessica was a fast learner, and after two years of training she was sent on her first task out of Chalon sur Sauldre. With her blessed shield and her calendar sword she started protecting pilgrims along their way for little or no fee at all, always eager to stand up for those who followed the way of the Light.

Character:
Being not the brightest candle in the chandelier she tends to be rather wrathful and believes that - since the Light is with her - she can hardly be beaten. On one occasion it took three members of her group to keep her down, when a Phelan shaman - accompanied by his tribe - painted a crude cross over the octagram on her chest, claiming that her gods were not permitted on his holy ground.
She values the Light above everything else and has sworn to destroy every last trace of black magic and corruption, even if it could mean her own death.
She doesn't differentiate between black apprentices, full-fletched necromancers or corrupt members of her church or even her order. If she is convinced that someone is practising the dark arts or tainting the pure and holy ways of the light, she will execute swift and - probably - deadly justice.
