The feral and human components of the subject lack a significant degree of scale for a balanced anthropomorphic design. To me, it looks too much like a dog head placed directly on a completely human body. The head appears too small relative to body size, and the cervical portion of the spinal column looks very dislocated and off scale for either feral or human.
I understand it's an old piece and your character models have improved a lot since then. I think your art techniques were much better in old pictures like this, but your character models are much better now than they have ever been.

This takes me back to the days when I silently stalked your art adventures on FAN and VCL and wished I could wield ink and prismacolor with the same understated elegance.
It's really neat how some of your older works stand up so well against the test of time without seeming dated or failing to live up to the memory of them. I look forward to revisiting your current stuff a few years down the road.
