Back story incoming.. Might be TLDR for some.. Those that think I'm just rambling can bite my furry a**. =P That being said..
So yeah.. this took me ages to do. First off, let me say this is a gift for someone that means a lot to me. She's been one of my closest friends ever. She's helped me through a lot of bad and hard times, and helped me discover who I truly am.
Long story short (mainly because even I don't know), but she has a necklace in Second Life that means the world to her, and was made by a mutual friend. If there's a story behind it, then there is. If not, then whatever. Point being, that for whatever reason, this digital necklace means everything to her, and she wanted a real one if she could.. Cue my brain and muse kicking me square in the arse..
I had to learn a lot to make this piece. I had to learn all about resin casting, how things "glow" and even how to make a custom silicone mold from scratch. Now, not saying I'm an expert in any of those areas, but dammit I tried. Took a lot of trial and failure, but I got the hang of it and eventually finally came up with what I call my "rave essence."
This was also originally just supposed to be on a length of suede cord, but by that time, I had gotten into the whole chainmaille scene. So she picked out a weave she liked that I knew I could do (least at the time) and would work with what she wanted. She picked out a pretty awesome weave with the silliest of names.. Rhinos Snorting Drano, or RSD for short. No, I'm not making that up. That's actually what the weave is called..
The wrap-up:
Custom black Rhinos Snorting Drano weave with black ice accents and two glow tails. One's 13" long, the other is 12" long and that's why they look.. off.
Center picture is the Second Life original necklace. Left picture is it's real life counterpart in the light while the right picture is it under black light. I know I didn't put the lil "caps" on the top of the glowsticks and I'm sorry. Nothing I tried came out looking even remotely good, so my apologies for that hun.

The back story of the "Glow Stick Necklace";
I have been in SL for a looong time. I have learned a lot and am pretty much a one stop shop for most things. Scripts, accessories, some clothes, fun gadget type stuff. You name I got it or know how to make it. I also own a club in SL, not purely furry themed but heavily favoring the furry genre, which I mostly learned through knowing Kira and coming here.
So one day this Tigress finds herself in my club, a DJ is plying and were having "rave night". She was new to SL, didn't know much of anything about how to do or get things, and didn't know many people. Me being me, I started passing stuff out,.... we became friends.
One of the first things I gave her was a necklace I had just finished working on literally a few hours before she poofed into my life. Well, she had brought a friend or two so I started passing out the necklaces to these new people who didn't have much being fairly new themselves.
She fell in love with the necklace and vowed to never take it off, her friend Lanix, who got one too, vowed to never take his off and its been an ongoing rivalry since. Lanix and Mie are both a pair of my best friends in SL. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
Because of this friendship that we've formed, and because the necklace was one of the first things I ever gave her, Mieze has an attachment to it unlike almost anything else in SL.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. =)
