Short summary: Saladin's character was informed that there was someone of worthy capability to fight against in the location my character popped into. So he did a bit of reality bending and warped himself into the place of battle.

My character saw him appear, and decided to do as quiet and minor a test as possible to see how Saladin's character would react, and what abilities he would reveal.

It's probably one of the most lax beginning attacks I've had Ichi-gou perform, but since I've never roleplayed against Saladin before I didn't really know what to expect of his sparring style. So I played a light hand with this post, just looking to see what he'd do with a character as powerful as his being faced with a threat as minor as a thrown knife.

There was a factor that kept coming up in my mind as I wrote this, and really when the fight was first paired up. Saladin's character has an -immense- level of magical potential. He can literally reshape reality by speaking.

At base, however, nothing in his bio indicates his body, brain, or equipment are of anything other than human-level. My character, in contrast, has a few magical techniques he's garnered from previous fights, but is otherwise super-humanly physically capable. If you go purely by the text of the bios, a brush from my insect-android's claw could send Saladin's head flying off his shoulders. So I wanted to see how he'd react to a purely physical and very minor threat that could, if not blocked, still kill him.
