At first I thought it odd that Celestia had put Discord in her garden if he could be set free so easily, and that he hadn't been set free in over 1,000 years if that was the case.

But then, and I think a lot of people missed this, I remembered that until recently he had been sealed. Celestia and Luna sealed him with the elements. But the seal, at the least, weakened considerably when power over the elements was transferred to Twilight and company.

So, I'm betting that unless something happens to the elements you could wreak all sorts of havoc near that statue actually.

That's probably true. Still, better safe than sorry. :}

Id have preferred him to stay as a villain in the series. I think the series needs a recurring villain.
