It's Loren Ipsum text, fake Latin stand-in text used to demonstrate formatting in various books. The many versions of the meaningless words have a similar structure to your average paragraph, so you can test photo placement, structure, stuff like that. It's very useful.

lorem ipsum is a popular blind text, it means nothing at all (though as far as i know some passages might vaguely form a sentence in latin indeed), it's commonly used as a layout filler by webdesigners
(sorry, i wasn't meant to reply, but i use lorem ipsum a lot at work XD)

Its beautiful! But the words look so generic and out of place in that simple font, its almost a shame. Almost not quite. ;D

I am also interested in story book illustration, but I am not sure how to start or what skills I should learn.

I can't help but be reminded of the 20th Century master Rosseau's work looking at the vibrant colors and simplistic forms in this image. It definately captures the eyes, and one's interest.
