I wrote this for a contest over at Deviant Art for Lylat Legacies. It's also my first piece of fan fiction. So be gentle when reviewing. Or not. I prefer honesty anyway.

I've enjoyed the Star Fox games since I was a child, but due to my weird liking of background characters more than the main ones I wrote this piece about the CDF or Cornerian Defense Force rather than the Star Fox Team (no disrespect to them).

This story is takes place shortly before the Corneria level in Star Fox: Assault. It details the actions of the 4th Squadron trying to defend their island from the Aparoids. I always hated that level as it pitted Star Fox against his allies. I know they were assimilated, but it still sucked.

I'm trying to stick to the games and their content as much as possible. So no gore, no harsh language, no sexual themes. So if it sounds like a square wrote this, there's a reason.
