Star Seeker--RPG overworld concept
A little concept I wanted to make for an RPG I'd love to make.
I don't want to bore you guys or anything, since a lot of details and pixels need setting, but if you don't mind I'd like to share some of the ideas I have.
So, as the title says, the game would be called Star Seeker--and the title of the game is also a rank in-game, for people who read the stars for information such as the weather, luck, and even which Astral magic would be most effective at what time.
The main character--the blond on the left--is Reagan Starlight, the son of famous Star Seeker, Roman Starlight, who disappeared several years before the game.
Reagan travels with the rest of the Star Seeker clan around the world of Silium, training to make accurate Star readings, and how to tap into 'Astral Magic', a way to harness the various energies of the stars to protect oneself.
Now then, onto the gameplay aspect--the overworld would allow eight-directional movement, the ability to walk or run, and even attacks for sneaking up on your enemy.
Monsters appear on the overworld in certain locations, and if you successfully sneak up on them, attacking them with your sword will initiate an advantage point where the enemy would be stunned for a period of time.
In battle, I'm still not too sure what I want to aim for, but I think I want something a bit like the Tales games, almost like a souped up version of ToP SNES maybe? Still don't know on that front. < <:
As you notice, there is a male base alongside Reagan, just in case anyone's interested--I thought I'd put that in since other people do.
But in retrospect, putting undies on them would've been a good idea. o o;

Star Seeker's concepts and characters were created by me--please ask for my permission before use. Well, except for the base. Have fun with it. :3

Yeah, that was another thought in my head--RM2K3 wouldn't be able to get me what I wanted. It wasn't what I was planning on anyway, it was just a thought--so, I guess I am kinda crazy. XD
Hm, maybe--I've never heard of the last two though, are they any good?
As for Game Maker, I still haven't been able to restore my license yet--maybe if I contact them they can help me, but I don't know a thing about GM. D:
Besides them though, I do have a couple other possibilities--IGMaker, or the e02 engine here.

IGMaker has templates, but it's harder to learn, so I'd have to get a lot of help on that front.
The e02 project would more than likely also take a good deal of learning, but after seeing what it could do with that Sonic template, I'm sold. XD

SGDK is basically GM in C#, except all the source code is visible, so you can make the game however you want. It also has a much dmarter way of handling graphics resources to save filesize and memory.
Dark GDK is the hardest, especially for 2D games since it's 3D oriented, but if you learn it, it's the best.
Both of these are free.
