Do you find the apothecary worth his cost? I've taken to giving my 5 paladins Brotherhood banner rather than him. That mixed with 3 halberd paladins, Hammerhand, and Might of Titan turns into 12 I6 S6 hit on 3+ (usually) attacks. I tried the apothecary out. He was worth his weight in gold against IG massed low strength fire, but he never really merited his point cost against any other opponents. Does yours do you good?
Also, damn fine paint job. I need to really get mine done around Christmas. Here's hoping I stick to that plan. XD

I can understand how he'd be useful if the paladin unit was at least 8 or more guys, but at 5 he just seems like too much of a point sink. The warding stave for +20 doesn't sound like it would save him from death too much/be worth the points what with its save only counting in close combat. That 20 points could be another yummy psycannon. Though if you say you get love and work out of him, keep it up! You may also face more melee oriented armies than me, making that stave worth it. I've got nothing but shooty armies over here in my playgroup, sadly. :P
it's not whether your facing combat armies, as a Grey Knight, the best point of survival is to get into combat regardless of your opponents position and fight it out, The warding stave is actually the best thing to give out as he's such an expensive model you want him as protected as possible and those irritating power weapon/fist attacks simply bounce off him so the unit can continue with feel no pain and good combat ability.
Grey Knights have to be played in a very forceful fashion to get the best out of them I find, your units are small but can do tremendous damage to even the largest units so it's best to get stuck in sooner rather than later, A redeemer in support usually goes a VERY long way!
