Yeah. Thanks for posting this. Bug's feet-paws have always been difficult for me to draw. I really like your lettering too. It fits so well with the style of the hand lettered pages the animators used to draw in the 1940s through to the 1990s.

I hope this helps. The way I generally draw paws is to rough in the overall shape then add in details like toes and claws.

Both types of lettering are ComiCrazy fonts, 'That's All Folks' and 'Hedge Backwards Lower' (italic). 'Hedge Backwards' in an all-caps type comic font, the 'lower' version has lowercase letters. 'That's All Folks' is the title font there. There are more variations that come with both. Their fonts are awesome. I can't hand letter anywhere near that neatly and haven't done it in years. I think I still have one of those little lettering guides. It's probably in the back of a drawer somewhere.

Yup! When he started out in 'A Wild Hare' he had the egg-shaped head with eyes on the side I mentioned in the other tutorial and a more belligerent attitude. Now he's a totally civilized hare in TLTS.

Even 'Happy Bunny' had interesting paws. So did Oswald in the early Dell Four Color comics. I've been looking at bunny paws for a long time too. =^.^=

Looks more like Buster Bunny's feet to me, dunno why, maybe because of the propotions, it looks like young paws :)

Hmm, maybe. I do tend to draw most characters a bit 'younger'.

I think the upper ones look more like classic Bugs. The lower ones a bit more like Buster. The old artists tended to draw everything looser and curvier.

i always had a thing for big paws especially when they can express themselves as well as hands do. ^^ the only challenging thing is drawing its expression, cause i see allot of stiff paw drawings as though the toes are glued together. but this makes for a great referance. great paw art.

Thanks! I do like paws myself so I've put some thought and effort into drawing them. Classic Bugs is one of those characters who can be expressive with his footpaws in established media, not just fanart so…

In TLTS he isn't so much, though his paws are a lot bigger.

Lionheart8 has an interesting point: most "funny animals" are barefooted
so their entire bodies are expressive, even the feet!
