Triffids - from Night of the Triffids - ambulatory plants that walk up to you and spit poison in your face, Wouldn't be that bad of a problem, but most of the worlds gone blind from a meteor shower, and can't see them coming. Campy old horror movie classic.
Pottsylvania Creepers - from Rocky and Bullwinkle - A vine that grows at an incredible rate and devours everything in sight.
So he's saying that the company's new "retirement" plan is to have the employees killed and eaten by plants.
