Even if the face is a little off, thought I'd still explain a little bit behind this.. rather evil looking image.

Alain is, in my story, an ex-cavalry Colonel who rather enjoys his job as a magistrate in Paris. For years since his discharge he's been living in reasonable comfort. Now that the war's here, he needs help.
In steps Giselle and instantly his whole perfect world goes *phut*.
He starts desiring his new servant, despite being kept constantly at bay by a combination of pride and her sharp wit. Well, most of the time at bay; once or twice he does try and force himself forwards but, true to form, she manages to weasel her way out virtually unscathed and 'unwrapped' (yeah, got that quote from Sharpe's Challenge).
Then he gets re-instated and is thrown groin-first into army life by getting a hand amputated when a supply cart falls on him. Cue emotion and stress.
