Dorey Dragony Tactics
So, some years ago, Final Fantasy Tactics on the Playstation 1 was one of the first video games that I -really- got into on my own, graduating from just watching my older brother play stuff. I really fell in love with the game. The story, the atmosphere, and the music all really spoke to me and I got quite into it. I thought a lot of the production and concept art for the game of various characters and classes had a really neat look to it too, and I've sort of half had this idea in my head for a while now. It is myself drawn in medieval garb and attempting to simulate the style of the concept art for FFT.
It's weird attempting a more cartoony, anime-inspired style when I've never really done it before. Still looks a little awkward to me, but generally I'm pleased with how it turned out.
Fun fact: thanks to my renaissance faire days I own or have owned basically all the gear I'm wearing there, with slight artistic modifications.

o.o? Final Fantasy Tactics was on PS1? You have all this gear? Yay human! (was thinking of drawing human faces lately as well) I must say, you got your human proportions like kirkin' spot on, looks spiff and this makes me wanna learn leatherworking even more augh (blame WoW for that....)
Yep! The original Tactics was anyway, after that came I think a couple 'Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced' games or something that were on the GameBoy Advance, but I never played those ones. Mostly because I don't have a GBA, but also it was hard for me to be interested when Square took the stance of 'you guys liked Tactics so here's another similar game set in the same world!! Except it's thousands of years later and after a cataclysm so none of the characters or places or even species you liked are there. Really all that's related at all is the name. And it's on a totally different console.'
And yeah, I do love me some leather period clothing. ^^ Haven't done humans much in a while so it was kinda fun, the art style and clothing I wanted to do made it seem like the way to go. The proportions I think are kinda weird for how humans -actually- are, but going off the style of the concept art I think I got pretty close. ^^

I think so anyway. :) Much more fun with somebody, I tried going alone once in Iowa and it was pretty lonely. For me a lot of the fun is dressing up in the gear, but they also have fun atmosphere, food, lots of handmade crafts and artwork and clothing to look at, and some fun shows.
Generally yep! Depends on what vendor you go to, but you can find really inexpensive swords just made to display, or sometimes properly forged expensive ones that are high enough quality that they'd work as functional sparring weapons. Over the years I've collected a little of both. ^^
And so on you, Ramza, my gaze alights. Now know regret, a traitor's recompense!
Fricken love the game myself. PSP version is actually a decent remake, though got screwed up on the sound department. Kinda funny seeing Blizzard's audio sound off a second after the hit, haha. Thoughts on the remake? Great picture here by the way.
