this may be wrong (do correct me if so), but for me i consider style display in hana-barbera (shows Like Yogi bear, Huckle berry hound, Hokey wolf and Top Cat) are actually retro cartoons.
anyway i found this book where it teaches you about drawing halloween and other holiday characters in retro cartoon style.
