Mmmm, a beauty. It was a shame that they never adopted the 4X 20mm cannon variant much...I remember one story where a pilot was in tears when, after crash landing his corsair on a carrier (a 20mm cannon varient), they refused to salvage it, and pushed it over the side. He was absolutely in love with having truly powerful guns on his plane. x3

Ahh, the classic Vought F4U Corsair. If I remember correctly, the first time it engaged battle was a weapons test in 1939. It later became popular for it's folding wing design for more room on a aircraft carrier in 1942. My granfather flew one of these for the longest time, then the F-18 Hornet came out...you get the picture.
