Interesting it just so happens I've been diddling about in Sai alot of late with paint style stuff but I doubt I could come up with something like this...
I dunno why... traditionally I'm sure I could crank out something neat then digitally it all turns so toony... I'm trying to stay more with natural type shades see where that gets me...
I've also tinkered a lil with some paint stuff in photoshop..
K so how do you get the grass so nicely defined? I mean looking at it it's not overly blurry or overly focused... if that makes any sense what so ever...

I STILL have a problem with making things look too cartoony, at least when I use lineart, that and in my opinion my lines are too thick. I also have little patience for lineart though :/
I use the water tool in SAI alot, infact that was how I made the grass. I used the water tool to lay down the base colors then I made it really small, picked up some of the colors and just made lines in the shape of grass. The nice thing about the water tool is it picks up traces of other surrounding colors so it more easily blends. It can be kinda time consuming though

I can't help but notice that you put a lot of work into your art. be it a simple comission, a kiriban free pic, or iron artist... where others would provide a skecth you go Michelangelo on them. :)
aside that, good pose (though I'm not sure if leaning against the tree like that wouldn't hurt the wings, but there), good body build, great face and expression, and great lighting/atmosphere. ^^
