Yes the cake is a box mix but the decorative art is not. How you make your cake is up to you but imagine the variations on this quirky fun birthday cake considering halloween is on the way. This delicious delight is from the kitchens of
jen-foxworth Hope your dad-in-law had a great birthday.
because he's SOOOOOOO OLDDDDDDDDDDD
funfetti and chocolate layer on the bottom, and yellow cake tombstone
yup that tombstone is CAKE
To make this cake you will need the following:
3 boxes of cake mix
2 wooden dowels *I did it without them, but I wish I HAD used them*
Oreo cookies, chocolate cream kind
Cake airbrush machine
buttercream frosting
Okay obviously you bake the cakes. Stack two of the quarter sheet cakes on top of each other *icing in the middle of them* and ice them like a normal cake would be. Take the last quarter sheet and stick it in the freezer for a while, and then cut it in the shape of a tombstone, not so big though. *freezing helps you when you cut the cake, it's less crumby* Stick the dowels in the bottom of the tombstone halfway so they are sticking out the bottom. Then, stick the dowels and the tombstone *uniced* into the already iced cake you have. Let it thaw for a while. Come back to it and ice the tombstone. *you may need a side icer to help you with this, or a spray bottle. in any case, it's not exactly easy*
Airbrush the cake green except where the dirt and tomb is. Airbrush the dirt area brown. Use black and green airbrush mixed together to make the tombstone color. Write on the tombstone.
Take the oreo cookies and take them apart, NO CREAM. Take the cookie part and smash it all up REALLLLLLL GOOD. Put that on the dirt area. You have dirt. YAY.
Make the border icing, *mixture of green food color, and a LITTLE bit of black and brown. A LITTLE YOU HEAR ME?!* Ice the borders.
OMFG YOU ARE ALL DONE. :3
NOTE: If you do not use support dowels, you may need to take cake and use it to hold up the back side of the tombstone. Depending on how heavy you ice it, and how much cake the tombstone is, you may have to do this EVEN WITH support dowels.
