What 20 tons of dragon looks like (FindingEden Collab)
A passerby asked me to show what twenty tons of dragon looks like, I was more than happy too. Weighing more than a transit bus has it's perks, but it also has drawbacks, like being unable to reach the back of your head or neck.
This is a collab with
FindingEden He did the original sketch and I worked on the inks and colors. This isn't quite done yet, I plan on doing Cell shading and a background when I have time to do art again.
He wanted to draw Razor again, and we decided to shoot for Razor's proper mass, this is what came of it. I think he hit it dead on. There are a few things I tweaked while doing the inks however, but most of it is just minor things. The only major thing is I made the wing arms longer, since they are supposed to be about the length of his body, making his wings four times his body length when fully spread.
This is also the first image of Razor to have the pouch bulge visible, and about the right size. His junk is big, so it's very hard to conceal it, the natural pouch doesn't do much other than cover it up.
By the way, go watch Finding Eden!

I think that's got a lot to do with the wing shoulders and arm shoulders being mashed together when the wings lift like that. A lot of really big muscles all bunching up. I usually keep the wings out to the sides, but with the body squatting like that there isn't room for the rest of the wings.
I think it might be more to do with the thickness of the lines not clearly indicating seperate limbs. To me they seem to suggest more that each muscle is an independant mass that happens to be stacked on top of each other. with no clear depreciation of a line that indicates the muscle is flowing into the form, the thicker lines, in particular on the wing muscles, don't so much imply a limb.
20 tons is arousing looking, to say the least! Nothing's off limits with dragons, I've always thought. And knowing what you've said about your particular strength and growth… this does seem correct, albeit mind-blowingly ginormous. Just lemme get at the hard-to-reach places for the scratchings or massage you need… be glad to be of service! It'd be a privilege getting hands-on that massive dragon scaliness of yours. Uh, you know what I mean… body. *sweatdrops*
My! Razor looks so terrific this time!
made such a wonderful design and you've made a fantastic work at coloring.
Now, Razor SEEMS to be the way he has to be. I'm truly impressed! When I saw this, I wondered about it. Then I realized it was indeed your scalesona. As I've already said, he looks IMPRESSIVE, INFLATED and quite overloaded... but don't misunderstand me, when I say "INFLATED and quite overloaded" I mean it in a muscular way. In bodybuilding, they use the word "inflated" all the time, here in Argentina at least they do. =D
Certainly, you seem very satisfied with the result, right? I mean, look at it! Gotta say it, I AM quite satisfied in addition, 'cause I identify with Razor in one way or another. Except for the bulge and the muscles, of course. I'm not that big, but I wish to be muscular...
Anyway, the limbs are absolutely well-made. Perhaps, with the final tweaks you pretend to do they will be more clearer. And talking about limbs, is he crouching there? Or is it just me that he looks shorter?
To end this LONG comment, I must say that the pouch bulge is breathtaking. He indeed shows what he got there.

He is squatting there, otherwise he'd be off the top of the frame >.=.<
This is probably the size he's going to stay, since I'm learning how to draw him this big myself. Though there may be a few images where I draw him a bit smaller in the mean time, since I can't quite get the mass Finding Eden can.
Though yes, this is the proper size for him. He's supposed to be so big it partially hinders his movement, like being unable to reach the back of his head. He's also not the most agile of dragons either, on the ground or in the air. He kind of just muscles his way around.

Squatting! That's the word I needed! Gosh, I'm still learning english...
Anyway, I see what you said. He isn't BIG anymore, he is getting HUGE now. I still love your sona, bro!
And don't worry; as you progressed to draw him bigger and bigger with the time, you will fulfill the target to draw him THIS way now. All you need is to focus and to practice! I've seen your progress in DA, Razor grew bigger and stronger there. That's what I meant to say... But drawing him this way now will be truly cool!
Speaking about size, I feel for him by being unable to reach the back of his head. However, as you've mentioned before he is quite creative to reach it. I guess that to be so muscular and inflated is not a problem. He works out, and it is truly visible. Keep this up, buddy! Keep Razor from Oblivion...
