Bagatelle in A Minor (aka Für Elise) by Ludwig Van Beethoven
2 minutes 46 seconds
I had several prejudices about this piece before actually playing it. It was a piano piece, and I was an organist. It is also the ''Chopsticks'' of classical music – so many people can play the first part of it on the piano, but nothing much else. When my good friend Weird Tom commissioned me to record this piece, he knew all of this, and still insisted anyway. I'm glad he did!
My version of this all-too-famous piece was intended to sound like a music box being would up and winding back down.
The percussion track was not part of the original music by Ludwig Van. This was the first time I added percussion to classical music.
Realized on Yamaha DX-100 synthesizer, wind up music box, wah pedal, effects boxes, and Tascam Porta-1 4-track tape recorder. Best listened to with headphones.
Music composed ~1810 by Ludwig Van Beethoven (public domain)
