Sculpted and painted in 12 hrs! The shield is my friend's herald for SCA. This little gryphon is an award for him. It was commissioned by his group as a surprise custom herald piece.

The reason he's got a slit in his chest is the award itself. It's the "Pelican" which is a high award at these events about self sacrifice and so I was asked to pay hommage to that in this sculpt. :) I'm not an SCA person, so I'm sorry I don't really have the details x-x
