This is the first story I wrote featuring my OC Daisy. Of course, I still haven't figured out a last name for her, which is why I still haven't drawn her yet XD. She's not related to Princess Daisy from the Super Mario games just to let you all know now.
This story was made to help introduce Daisy to Naru and Koji, as well as to play on my finding a cute car running out of gas to be cute Daisy has always enjoyed setting herself up to have car trouble when going for a drive, mainly enjoying the sounds of her car, Florela's, sputtering, weakening engine. She never rigs Florela in such a way that she ends up causing irreparable damage to Florela. She likes having car trouble sometimes, but she likes Florela more. Anyway, Daisy decides to drain most of Florela's fuel and then see how far she can get before she runs Florela out of what little fuel she has left. Naturally she brings along a little extra fuel to keep playing, but not much. Daisy continues to have fun with her game until she realizes she's traveled too far from home to drive back with the trickles of fuel she has left and an empty gas canister. Luckily, she encounters a certain pink bandana wearing, ninja who helps her and even introduces her to a certain friend of his Enjoy! :3
Daisy sat outside her small home, enjoying the warmth of the sun. Daisy is somewhat petite, barely standing in at five feet three. She had blue eyes and long flowing hair reaching halfway down her back. She let the wind blow in her hair as she looked on at her little yellow and orange car she had named “Florela”. Looking at Florela always seemed to make her feel happy. Possibly because of the bright paint she always thought.
Still new to her neighborhood, Daisy had yet to make any friends, so she spent the past week unpacking, organizing, and relaxing in her new home. Looking at her car, she thought about how it had been a while since she took her out to “play”. Daisy has loved setting herself to have car troubles for some time now. She loved the sounds Florela made in her weakening state. Sputtering backfiring, so on.
Daisy got up and approached her car and looked over the dashboard. Looking at the fuel gauge, reading full, she thought to herself for a moment before smiling. “Neither of us have anything better to be doing right now, so I'm going to get you ready to go out and have some fun” she said, smiling and patting the hood before heading off into her garage.
After a bit of rummaging, Daisy returned, carrying two plastic gas cans, one a small much longer size than the other with a bigger cap and no nozzle. Under one of her arms, she had a pumplike item wish a rubber hose attached to it. She then sat down near Florela's back end got ready to “play”. No one ever stopped by her house, so she wasn't worried about anyone asking her what she was up to.
Daisy slipped on a pair of gloves and removed the cap from the smaller gas can. She then slid the small canister under Florela's gas tank. After alining the fill hole of the canister with the gas tank, Daisy twisted off a cap under the tank, causing fuel to pour from the tank and into the canister. She giggled to herself a bit as she looked inside the cabin and watched the needle on the fuel gauge go down. Before long, the last drops of fuel trickled out of the tank.
After re-securing the cap below her tank, Daisy carefully slid the canister out from under Florela. She the set the second canister down next to the first and placed the pump item near them and inserted one part of the pump into the filled canister, and one part into the empty one. Next, she pressed down on the pump, and fuel began to fill the empty canister. After several cycles, Daisy stopped once a full gallon was in the canister.
After pouring the one gallon of fuel into Florela's tank, Daisy brought the canister back and pumped the empty canister just under ¼ of the way. “Okay, this should be enough to play with” she said, holding up the canister and smiling. Setting the partially filled canister down, Daisy removed the small pump and hose from the other can and closed the cap. “We'll save this for later. I'd hate for it all to go to waste” she said, still smiling as she picked up the canister and pump and carried them back to her garage.
After putting away her things and quickly changing into some clean clothes, Daisy locked the front door behind her and sat down in Florela's drivers seat. “Okay. Here go” Daisy said, giggling and starting Florela's engine. Florela started without any type of fuss.
Daisy drove and made her way through town, finding a good traffic jam to sit in for a few minutes as Florela's fuel supply slowly depleted before continuing out into the hills. Daisy giggled as she heard Florela begin to sputter and backfire. Daisy pressed down on the gas. Florela grew weak as her engine bubbled, sputtered and backfired. Daisy was able to to pull to the road side just as Florela's engine shut off with a weak hiss.
“Are you all out of gas girl?” Daisy giggled as she patted the steering wheel and got out to retrieve her gas can. After removing the cap from Florela's tank, Daisy carefully poured a bit of fuel into the tank. “This will be enough to get you going again... but not for long” Naru said, smiling and removing setting down the partially filled canister before screwing back on Florela's gas cap.
Daisy put the canister back in the trunk and sat back down in Florela before trying to start her. It took two tries, but Daisy got the engine started. She could feel the weak vibrations from the engines as she listened to the weak putt putt sound coming from Florela's engine. Daisy pulled back onto the road and continued going.
As Daisy approach a hill, Florela began to sputter again. Daisy smiled and continued up the hill. Florela sputtered and backfired as she climbed the hill, now beginning to lose power. Daisy floored the gas pedal, getting Florela over the hill. Florela's fuel gauge read empty as she bubbled and sputtered down the hill, eventually rolling to a stop.
Daisy continued this process, running Florela out of gas, giggling as she listened to the putts and sputters, filling her with a little more gas, and starting over. Now she had a problem though. The last droplets of fuel trickled out of the canister and into the tank. Daisy only now realized how far from home she really was. Knowing she could enjoy running out of gas one last time before really being stranded.
“Maybe I should have brought the rest of your fuel with me for this situation” Daisy said, thinking about what to do. She finally decided to go as far back as she could on what fuel she had left, which was quite little. “Okay, do your best for me Florela” Daisy said before pulling onto the road once more and turning around.
Daisy glanced at the lowering fuel gauge several times as she continued to drive. As she approached the hill from before, Daisy got a sinking feeling in her stomach. “Okay. Come on Florela. You can do this” she said, patting the wheel before pressing down on the gas.
Florela slowly climbed up the hill, sputtering and backfiring. “Come on...” Daisy pleaded quietly. Florela's engine was growing weaker. Daisy floored the gas pedal, but it was no good. Florela began to make bubbling and sputtering sounds that Daisy was all to familiar with. Daisy pressed the gas pedal again several times, but Florela simply backfired as she began rolling down the hill, sputtering the whole way down.
At the bottom of the hill, Florela sputtered a bit more before finally quitting with a weak hiss from the engine. Daisy sat, staring at the fuel gauge as she heard a few last sputt sounds from the tailpipe and a final backfire. Daisy decided to tap the gauge, but knew the needle wasn't going anywhere. “I guess that's the end of that game, huh Florela?” she said, smiling and caressing the dash.
Daisy rested in her seat, now feeling sad that her playtime had come to an end and because she hadn't thought of a way to get home after she used all of the fuel she brought along. She shrugged. “We still had fun though, right?” She said, smiling at Florela's wheel.
Daisy then saw a minivan in the distance. “Maybe they can help us” she said, stepping out and waving her arms. The minivan slowed down and pulled over, and a man in a black t-shirt with a picture of a ninja shuriken stepped out. His violet colored hair was kept back by a pink bandana. He smiled and approached Daisy.
“Hi there. Are you having car trouble?” He asked. Daisy nodded. “Yes. I'm out of fuel and stranded” she said. Koji laughed. “Why are you laughing?” Daisy asked, pouting. “Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude to you. It's just that I have a friend who's stuck like this a lot and this made me think of her” he said. Daisy sighed. “I don't suppose you have any fuel you could spare do you?” she asked. The man thought for a minute. “Well, I do have a can of gas, but my older sister ends up needing it more than me” he laughed. “So that's a no then?” she asked. “I never said that” he replied, smiling. “As long as I refill it before I get home, everything will be just fine. You need it more than I do right now anyway” he said, smiling. “Oh, thank you so much! Oh, my name is Daisy by the way” she said, smiling. “Mine's Koji. Give me a sec to go grab that gas for you” he said, walking back to his minivan.
Koji returned a moment later with a red plastic canister and removed the cap from Florela''s tank. “Say, are you new around here?” he asked. Daisy nodded. “Yes. I just moved here from across the country about a week ago” she said. “I though I recognized your car” Koji said, pouring the contents of the canister into Florela's tank. “I'm sorry?” she said. “Well, I just started seeing this car parked outside a house in my friend's neighborhood about a week ago” he said. “A friend?” she asked. Koji nodded. “Yep. The one I told you about. She has a car a lot like this one. She's pretty surprised to see someone other than her driving one like it. She's been pretty curious about who owns it, and to be honest, I was too” he said, setting the canister down and screwing the cap back on Florela's tank. “Oh... I don't know anyone in the neighborhood, so I didn't think anyone was all that curious. Though, it does make me feel a bit better knowing someone in the neighborhood has a car like mine. Is she friendly?” Daisy asked. Koji nodded. “Oh yeah. She doesn't bite or anything. You should talk to her sometime” Koji said. Koji then got an idea. “Hey, now that you have enough gas to get home, do you wanna meet her? I was going to visit her, so It'd be no problem” he said. Daisy took a moment to consider Koji's offer. “Well, if it wouldn't be too much trouble...” she said shyly. “Not at all. Come on, I'll give you a boost up that hill” he said, smiling. “Thank you” Daisy said, bowing in gratitude.
After helping her get up the hill, Daisy and Koji drove back to the neighborhood. Koji pulled up to a large house, and Daisy parked behind him. “Here we are” he said, smiling. “Oh. She must be pretty successful to live in a house like this” Daisy said, looking around outside. Koji shrugged. “She actually lives here with two friends of hers. The house if her friend's, but she does her part to help out since she's staying for free” Koji said, pointing over the far curb near the left front end of the house. “You see the pink car over there? That's her car Elsey” he said. Daisy blushed as she she looked on at Elsey. “Wow, she really does look a bit like Florela. I'll admit, Elsey is a cute name for a cute car” Daisy said.
Koji smiled. “You wanna take a closer look?” he asked. “Huh? Would that be alright?” Daisy asked. Koji nodded. “Sure. I don't Naru will mind you just looking. Just don't jump and try and take off” Koji said, laughing and leading her over to Elsey.
“She's a little older than yours car based on the seating arrangements, but she still runs. Naru really likes her” Koji said, smiling and looking at Elsey. “She's adorable” Daisy said, touching Elsey's hood. “Thank you. It makes her happy when you compliment her” A voice said from behind Daisy, making her jump. Koji laughed. “Hey Naru” he said. “Hi Koji. Who's this?” Naru asked, looking to Daisy. “This is Daisy. She's the one who moved into that house nearby recently. You know, the one with the yellow and orange car?” he said. “Oh. It's nice to finally meet you. My name's Naru Hsu, and in case Koji didn't introduce you, this is Elsey” Naru said, smiling. Daisy sighed and nodded. “It's nice to meet you” she said.
Looking at Daisy's car, Naru thought of something. “Say, how come I've never seen you before now?” she asked. “I was kind of wondering about that myself” Koji asked. Daisy sighed again. “Oh, well, I'm just shy is all. No one around here has really tried to talk to me, so I don't really have any friends here” Daisy said. “Sure you do. Me and Naru are your friends now” Koji said, smiling. Naru smiled and nodded.
Daisy stared at them both. “But you hardly know me. Are you sure you want to be friends with me?” she asked. Naru nodded. “Sure we are. I mean, you haven't done or said anything to make us think your dangerous or anything” she said. “There is just one little rite of passage though” Koji said. “Huh? What's that?” Daisy asked, somewhat nervous. Koji smiled. “A handshake of course” he said, holding out his hand to her. Naru did the same and held her hand out. Daisy blushed and smiled before shaking each of their hands.
“Now that that's decided, why don't we show Naru your car. I'm sure she'd love to see it up close” Koji said. Daisy nodded. “Of course. I'd be happy to introduce you to Florela” Daisy said, motioning with her hand for them to follow her. Daisy smiled to herself as she walked. “You know what? I think I'm going to like he after all” The thought to herself as she led her new friends to see her little car.
