This photo landed you a date? I've always been on the ropes with online dating services. I pop in, look around, but never really committed any time or thought to the whole thing, but whenever I read someone claiming it worked for them I find it interesting.

Yeah, it actually did. haha. I've seen it work for people but I actually just joined to get my friend to as I said above, I wasn't really expecting anything from it. I read my current girlfriends description and decided she was at least someone I wanted to talk to, I had just come out about a year or two earlier so I still only had straight friends and I figured even if she and I didn't end up dating it would be nice to make a new friend who could maybe link me better to the gay community in my area. But the way Speed date was set up was pretty stupid, I know it had been something else before... They altered the name and some other things about it, I didn't tell her at first but it actually would NOT let me talk to her at all. I think it allowed me to send three words or something and it wouldn't give me her actual Facebook or anything. And being the stubborn ass I am I signed up for it to try and talk to her because it said I could get a refund of my money in thirty days if it wasn't working for me. I never got the refund but I've been with her for three years now so I think that's okay. :) We found out shortly after we started talking that we had three mutual friends and even that they weren't close friends that we'd kind of known each other. That's why when people tell me that social networking sites ruin people's in person social interactions or make them more introverted I really don't agree. You just have to know how to use it some times or just have to get lucky. I never would have met her, even though we did have those mutual friends. Out of my three hundred some friends (most from high school) the ones that could have linked me to her were people I knew but didn't talk to frequently. But cases like mine don't always happen, I'm just a weirdo. My ex-girlfriend I actually met on Deviantart, she lived about 15 minutes away from me while she was going to college and one of her good friends worked for my mom. Apparently things just work in strange and ironic ways for me.
