My boyfriend and I got two female rats :)
We adopted them at petco since their previous owner just dropped them off :(
The tan colored one is his and her name is Scamp due to her high energy levels and mischievous personality. and mine is all black with a white tummy and booties. Her name is Pepper. Even though she's not full of pep. She's quite shy, but she's warming up to me slowly :) Now I never knew how smart they were, they are our first rats, I've had many hamsters and gerbils in the past but none come close to how troublesome this little critters can get. So, I'm cleaning out the cage today and I don't have a separate cage to contain them in, so I put them in a big laundry horizontal bin. Those little mofos jumped ( NEVER KNEW HOW HIGH THEY COULD JUMP ) and tried escaping!! THEY ARE TOO SMART. TOO SMART FOR THEIR OWN GOOD.

Naw, the first two...Bailey and Moose, Moose had myco and died shortly after I got him (although I spoiled him and tried my best to heal him, he was the sweetest little thing) and Bailey was very very aggressive and I suspect he had rabies - second set, Goat and Zeb, Zeb was tiny and kept jumping out of the cage (he could fit through the bars), and then I acquired Fawn, after months of Goat, alone, chewing on the bars of his cage at my desk, which I sit at all day every day, driving me insane. I got Fawn, introduced them, everything went well until I figured out Goat has rabies and I inadvertently gave Fawn rabies by putting him in the same cage. GFHADJGUSLTHJ
