Wrote some poetry for my creative writing class.
its not very good but I figured why not upload it :P
Rage
A sharp word cracks the stone
A flash of white and the seal falls away
There is a stinging sensation down your spine and across your face as it sleepily trudges out of the debris
Grinding your teeth makes the world spin faster and time stand still; and it lets out a blood curdling roar
The beast,
A combination of fear and neglect turned rampant.
Now released and there is no way to hold it back
You foolishly think it’s on your side as it crushes the closest town to you
But as it runs out of things to smash nearby, it turns its ugly head to face you.
Helplessly you watch as the fiery eyed colossus brings his fist down
The ground quakes and takes the floor out from under you
The titan reaches its gargantuan mitt down to grab you
You try to crawl away but your sorrows and insecurities hold you down and it’s got you.
Your rage, your anger, your uncontrollable fury
Lifted hundreds of feet of the ground you look out and see the destruction it has caused
The bridges it’s burnt and the towns it’s destroyed
It opens its jaws, but before it can swallow you up
You clear your head and forget the things that had spurred its awakening
The monstrosity is frozen in stone and sealed away once more
You know this behemoth can never be kept at bay forever as the stone shakes and cracks
So easily it escaped and not so easily sealed away again you make a vow
A vow to make the seal stronger
A vow to keep away the frightening and yet pathetic creature
Maybe one day terms will be made and you will be able to drag its sorry carcass to a pit and toss it in
But for now the seal will have to hold
Until the towns are rebuilt and renovated and until the sun begins to set
