I debated on ever submitting this. I also debated so long I forgot to crop the doodle. obviously my mind is elsewhere.
A scribble of the first and most memorable thing I have to hold onto him about. A dream. Fresh into that "dragonkin" thing, years back, the first actual dream i had as a dragon was of being lost, swimming in an incredibly murky ocean, where up was down and left was inside out. He dashed out from the mirk to slap me with his forehead and tail. I got so frustrated at him I kept chasing after where he kept dashing off to, somehow always getting behind me or to my flank, and dashing in another direction. Until I, tae, finally crawled out of the water looking for him, without noticing he had helped me out of the wakes, and I couldn't see him any more.
i wanted to pull the log out from my aim logs but it weighs heavy on my heart to see that it was lost in the first, and only log purge i ever did.
It's easy to say this, now that you're dead.. But thank you Athus. Even though, near the end, we were left not to look eye to eye, it's unreal to know that you're gone. You were the first furry dragon artist I'd ever seen, and you shared such simple and casual words with me, that lit the fire to keep working on art. Though, I blame you for sharing with me your philosophy that art's a hobby, and not a career. ... And sharing your fickle muse. The first seen, and the first to leave this life.
You were, in many ways, what I had always longed to nurture myself to be. Mature, respected, level, composed, open-minded, and you put your person before anything spiritual. At least how I saw you, and the stories shared about you. I want to take up your life as a bit more of a lesson than I have in the past. To treat life not so jaded, and not so bitter toward anyone I may disagree with.
Goodbye, Athus. Until our next meeting.

It's okay, I couldn't type more than a sentence without tearing up either. We'll all miss him a lot
