So as some of you may have heard over the past few, my best friend and I are collaborating to make an RPG. He's doing most of the nuts and bolts part of it, like story, mapping, and event planning, while I'm on the creative end with music and artwork.
After trying to record myself playing a theme I'd written for one of the main characters, and discovering that my mic doesn't pick up the notes from my keyboard worth balls, I broke down and did the music digitally with my lovely music programs.
Good old ancient Cakewalk Home Studio helped me to sort out the notes of a midi, which then went into Mixcraft to improve the instrument quality, add extra effects, and mix it down into an MP3.
The result? ... Some kinda depressing music for a kinda depressing character. But it's pretty, and doesn't sound like you're listening to piano coming from a tin can like the original did |OD Enjoy y'all!
