Jubei suffers from PTSD from his childhood growing up in the laboratory. In the chaos of the twins being delivered via c-section, Celestina dying for a short while on the table (Annonians do terrible under anesthesia), and feeling the joy of holding his new born daughter, Jubei finds a memory triggered when a young intern dressed in a white coat approaches him. They want to take his baby away. Take her to put her all alone in the sterile room of the incuward. Jubei forgets where he is for the moment and recoils to protect what is precious to him.
