I kept this one a secret from the wonderful Youka until I finished it just now.

This was a really challenging sculpture, made with my highest quality polymer clay, Sculpey Primo - first time I've used this and it's much harder to work with than Fimo Soft or Super Sculpey.

I also tried a more traditional sculpting technique than usual. I normally fashion my sculptures by hand but this time there was more carving involved (though a lot of it was still shaped in my usual manner). I also adopted a very traditional straight-ahead bust style rather than my more normal posed pieces.

The two big disappointments in my own abilities were that I tried my best to give her whiskers - this would have been my first sculpture with them included - but I couldn't find any method that would work and be sturdy enough. The second fail was that I tried to make her a pair of glasses but they just didn't look correct.
