The uniform is a simple camouflage BDU, used on planets where the local fauna or enemy troopers can't see too good, or the field of view is so small that camouflage doesn't matter. The piece of equipment located on his right arm is a custom built Karedian Universal Combat Scanner, with added radio transmission unit, and high-security memory drive, compatible with the Sariss Industries 'Ch'tah' Personal Data Assistant on his right belt slot. The other shoulder is covered by a genuine Dragen shoulderpad, a piece of armor that belonged to a Dragen Paladin before the era of technology. It's crafted from the best Namilan steel, enriched with galadium (a rare, extremely resistant volcanic mineral), and while it does not offer protection comparable to a Karedian drake armor, it still does it's job. The vest is a standar issue fiber/composite Beast Federation Armed Forces Assault Vest, protecting the wearer from even high-powered rifle rounds.
Two objects on the right upper harness are ArgisCorp. CEDs, Customizable Explosive Devices, than act as grenades, proximity mines, timed charges and so on, and so forth. The lower left harness carries three 50-bullet magazines for the Aeris MPCR 018 bullpup assault rifle.

A short background on the Windwalkers:

Windwalkers is the codename of shaur (lieutenant) Mikael Grizzly's squad, which in turn is part of the 13th Legion of the Beast Federation Armed Forces. Although it is the smallest, it is by no means the least important, as it is compromised of scouts, spiec, infiltrators and covert ops specialists, and their members have more than once altered the course of history.
All operations of the thirteenth legion are classified, as they are often used in dirty, embarrasing cases. One of them was the drop on Seren, a lush, jungle moon of the blue gas giant Maggnoth, against a base of renegade human supremacists. Due to Maggnoth lying in human space, it was a very delicate mission. Unfortunately, corrupt intelligence has caused the drop to be intercepted by renegade fighters, and capture or kill nearly 80% of the initial attack force. Due to the losses, and the arriving medical support, the BFAF High Command was forced to show the cards and admit to operating within Solar Alliance space. This was the last mass-scale operation of the 13th, after which they turned to precise, elegant tactics at squad level.

Unlike humans, everyone in this Legion was recruited from average, physically normal Beasts. All handicaps were eliminated in the first year of duty, when extensive physical training and pharmacological treatments took place, changing nerds into nerdy killing machines. Also, cybernetic implants worked to improve the combat capability of this legion.

It is composed of several different squads, and unlike other, who are named alphanumerically, these all have uniqe codenames.

During official ceremonies, all legionists of the 13th wear black suits with blue finishing.
