It's a drawing of a mythical Baku (the dream eater). It's supposed to be a modified tapir but I screwed up and now it looks like a kinda fat pony. Whatever. Here it is snacking on some baby nightmares. And yeah, nobody leaves their baby sleeping on the floor like that. I just made it up as I went along since I had no underdrawing, it's all straight ballpoint doodling, no planning, no corrections. Digital shades of purple added in PS. No refs.

I like the stomach and esophagus markings and/or cut-away view of the inside. I used to draw cutaways when I was a kid, but didn't know how the insides of animals actually looked, and I'd have stomachs that didn't connect to the bottom part of the digestive system. The way that loops around it reminds me of pictures of those and of pictures of kline bottles, though I figure the rest of it isn't shown because it's not as important.
Yes, the cutaway/see-through is to show that he eats the dreams, instead of just sniffing them or something. You're correct, I left out the rest because it's not as important, it's not supposed to be an anatomical drawing. I like your idea with the kline bottle :) By the way, I used to draw animals stacked into each other as a kid, but no internal organs.
