Over the past few days, I've made a lot of progress on the wolf head. I think I'm getting close to having him ready to cast, in fact.
The plan now is to have much of the front of his face flesh (silicon), with hair filling in around where the human hairline would be. This is why there are so many details on the sculpt.
Not complete; lots of symmetry work left, as well as smoothing, but getting close!

Excuse me, may I ask a question?
I was thinking of going with this product but I don't know if I should use brushable or pourable to make my own mask for my sona. Which would you prefer?

I'm more familiar with Tap products than Smooth-On, but have used Smooth-on in the past. I was going to use Tap's Silicon RTV system for the negative for this mold, but I'm not sure it is compatible with the Platinum Silicon I'm getting from Smooth-on.
I've used Brush-on 40 for this sort of thing in the past. It's good, but you have to really work to avoid bubbles in the surface, which will be tough for this one, since the positive won't be furred. Pourable molds are good, but you need a LOT of the material, since you have to submerge the positive in the mold to make it, and have to be careful with bubbles, still; a vacuum chamber helps. I may try Reoflex from Smooth-on.
I'd say it may be easier to start with brush-on, for large objects (like heads), especially.
