Actually, from my perspective at least, the majority of fans where cool with the canon Luna. I remember looking at ponychan and seeing this thread where a guy said that the new Luna was the death of MLP but it had two or three pages of people going, "Are you retarded? The new Luna is AWESOME!" and the thread was only two or three pages long.
