Birthday Yoshi's Return

I used this chance to experiment with the vector pen for my outlines, and I think it's now worthy of being called an outline. Finally, the picture is mainly clean of messy pixels, woo.
As you can tell, I borrowed a few references from Yoshi's Story. I thought the fruit, of which a Yoshi loves quite a bit, would make a good boarder for this b-day card looking picture, like they do when you collect them in the game. I'm bad with backgrounds either way, so I thought I would go with the simplistic style of the victory screen of said game. Consisting of three colors, how could I possibly mess it up? I thought I would add a little more to it to hide the fact it's three solid colors. I recalled Yoshi's Story being a storybook type game, and thought giving the background a kind of paper texture would go well with the theme of being a b-day card looking picture.
It all added up.
