The blade makes it look hard to hold and fire and it can't be used as a bayonet. It's awkward to use one like a sword, which is the only way it would be remotely useful. When it comes to melee a rifle will be used as a pike or as a club, and with that blade it can't be used in either capacity.
If you want to properly use the bayonet you should:
1: Hide barrel into blade, ex like medical needle shape.
2. Cutt off it to body, for short range shootouts you only need 20cm of inner barrel.
Anyway, quite hvy, better thing it was use a drum mag, than normal box cartridge. More handy, saying from life experience
