I have to ask, does this come form some personal experience, or is it perhaps a statement of harsh reality, or both? You don't need to answer; I'm just wonderign what the motivation was.

There are numerous cures for cancer though :P

If you want to know why doctor's never use or even acknowledge them look up the history of current pharmacological medicine and it's beginnings in the 1920's

there is no solid cure for cancer, they're working on a cure mind you, one famous one is scorpion venom, it destroys cancer cells but can also destroy normal cells as well and they're trying to dilute it

I was about to ask how much time passed between pages 10 and 12...but after looking back at page 9, I see the events from page 10 onward appear to unfold rapidly, seemingly in a matter of minutes, Is this correct?

Something continues to bug me about my last comment... it should read "onward from the end of page 10".

I re-read the last few pages again and now I see that a year (or whatever the equivalent cycle is on their world) passed during page 10. Was it known within the immediate family (at the time of Shalls' 3rd birthday) that Jalaycia had cancer?

Re-reading again suggests that there was only a very short period of time between her being incapacitated and her passing. Did I interpret that correctly?
