After being told at Autozone that my scooter battery was inresurrectably dead (and that they didn't have a replacement in stock), I took it to Batteries Plus where I'd bought it, to get it replaced. But the fella at the counter tested it and declared it to not only be just fine, but fully charged! Hallelujah!
Instead of selling me a new battery, he told me the truth. Isn't it nice to run into honest people, occasionally? And his words were indeed true - my scoot started up and ran me home just fine. Yay! I have motorized transport, again.

lol my autozone I only go to one person due to last time one of the employees said the battery was dead while another noticing me about to leave with the suppose dead battery said they should at least try to charge it to see if it is fully dead...nope it came back to life after a 2 hour charge
Or is he? Where do you think Karno's going to go for his battery needs in the future? How many new customers do you think they'll get because of honest practices?
There's making a quick buck, and then there's maintaining a long-term sustainable customer base. One strategy makes money then and now, the other stays in business(and generally deals with a better sort of customers, too).

I had that in a way.
I went into a store with the intention to upgrade my OS and the salesman refused to sell it to me. XP to ME. After asking a few more people, one I found who was a repair tech that dealt with Windows I was told to listen to the nice man.
He was not a bad salesman because I still go back to him. I can depend on getting good info from him.

when I was at the store today I saw a guy with some money at his feet, and I told him he dropped a dollar as I passed by. I took about three steps before I realized it was kind of weird that I didn't even think about picking up the money for myself and how I seem to be hard wired for honesty.
great to hear that....
Possibly the Battery terminal was corroded and needed cleaning.... this is what I would have told you the first thing you do is Check the Battery AKA load test... first you top up the battery and then put a Load across the terminals first a Burst and then Continuous if the tester stays in the Green the battery is good if not you replace the battery free of charge if it is less then a year old and 15% 3 Years and so on

I haven't found Autozone employees to be particularly competent, and their test equipment is not always working right. Last time I tried to get them to read OBD2 codes, their reader said my port was not working. My $12 Chinese code-reader had no problem. My guess is the moron du jour put it on the car battery tester and said "Woah! This battery only has 6 Volts! That's completely dead!"
