No match for almost anything else in WW II, the M8 armored car was generally used for convoy escort. Occasionally, however, it was used for its design purpose; scouting. Here a group of scouts come out of the forest (yes, that's trees) in the background, and into the open, where the Greyhound's high speed might offer it some measure of protection. I doubt the dismounted infantry would appreciate them dashing off, though.
