I may be a little hazy on this, but were the Pandaren made as an April Fool's joke? Or am I thinking of something else?

Mind you, I do sorta like the idea of Tauren stomping around in Starcraft...now where's my Guitar Hero character class in WoW? I wanna kill monsters to sweet musiiiiic!

Pandaren have been around since at least Warcraft 3, and there have been some players wanting to play them for a few years now. I remember the "Bawwwww! I'm Alliance and I wanted Pandaren, WTF are these Draenai thingies!"

I'm guilty of that. Been wanting to play a pandaren monk on wow since I saw the brewmasters :3

Actually, they negative reactions have been so strong that you'd think it was an idea by Derek Smart.

im excited for the pandaren, and ya they were really wanted in BC for the alliance but they didnt get them at the time

i think its more people hating the change of the WoW then the actual race, just a ton of rather.. i dono what to say about people

Some people hated BC, some WotLK, some Cataclysm. It's not unusual some will hate the new addon as well. But honestly, I like to see Azeroth change over time to stay fresh rather than seeing it being stuck in classic mode. WoW would be too boring then for long time players. Of course, people think differently, like the ones who still have classic accounts, but I never understood that particular strange sense of nostalgia, since it is impossible to keep the feeling of Classic WoW alive and contained, while anyone else moves on.

ya i like the change to, but cata just didnt hold my attention as much as the other expansions sadly, hopefully with them wanting to be more into story it will pull me back in, i liked the first WoW do to the no main villain part and you attacked at a lot of different power figures in the game

ive been playing for over 6 years now i get what they say about the fun stuff but honestly they only remember the good stuff.. WoW is better then it was in vanilla..

It surely has been improved since then. Personally I like Cata. I like the look and feel of the new zones and I even like the instance design, both in encounters as well as in architecture (and I was used to hate instances for becoming boring and repetetive way to fast in the past). Well it might also be due to the WotLK Expansion. I didn't really liked its themes, mood and designs and I am quite glad that WoW now looks brighter and more colorful again. And I am curious about what lies still ahead of us in the future. Maybe something many players agree in liking it again.

I honestly have hated panderan since inception into the RTS as a Easter egg joke but you know what, they've done a good job at a lot of the working to make them into valid race. Unfortunately the kung fu panda jokes ruined some of my moon toward them but, it was quickly regained when I realized. It's gonna be awesome regardless! Oh by the way hun, fantastic rendering of them! Only makes me like them more!

Pandas are an evolutionary dead end. They have teeth and a metabolism designed to be a carnivore, but they're so slow, clumsy, and uncoordinated, they can only eat bamboo and other grasses. Yes, they can only hunt something that doesn't move. You'd think this would mean they've evolved to live off the stuff, right? Wrong! Their digestion of the grass is so inefficient and so difficult for them to extract nutrients from it, they have to spend almost every waking hour eating just to have enough nutrient energy to survive day to day.

Hell, even pandas think they should die out. They refuse to mate with any others of their species, and any pregnancies that do result are only rarely brought to term. We keep on coaxing and bleading and doing fertility tests and putting on Marvin Gaye music, and for what? Another bear that doesn't do a damn thing except sit on its ass and eat bamboo? It's called natural selection! If you can't eat, can't hunt, and can't breed, your species LOSES!

Why the hell are they still alive? Because they're cute and we feel guilty for harming their habitats? Fuck that! If cuteness was a successful evolutionary defense mechanism, there'd be nothing left on earth but puppies and midgets.

Count the number of wolves meandering about, then count the number (and variety) of adorable doggies. It pays to suck up to the dominant species.

they only eat those things because that was all that was available in their own environment(or perhaps as a moral decision in ages past, but all that was forgotten by them as a species within 3 generations of that diet). if you feed a panda their natural carnivorous diet they become much like any other raccoon(and hyper violent as well). Why humans continue to feed them their "natural" diet of "bamboo" makes almost no sense, if we fed them their REAL diet now that they are not land locked to those areas of china well they would be a great giant raccoon species. However they could be just be "vegans by choice." As attempts to have them eat a meat and other food diet has been sketchy in terms of their own desire to do so.

...If natural selection were real, the entire cast of Jersey Shore would be dead by now.

they come off as very "gay bear" not to mention not a single screen shot of a female panderian and almost no art of them ever....on top of that the artist behind their creation etc's own orientation and furriness x3! I LOVE THEM, they love food, beer, and martial arts, the perfect trifecta.

All pandas are gay. That's why they don't breed in captivity.

Tell me about it. I volunteer at the National Zoo in DC, and those dang pandas have only made ONE baby. Unacceptable.

Well it was the same for the Worgen back then. Screenshots of the females were released pretty late, since the designers still needed more time to finish them.

Definitely pro-Pandaren. If only because the "no wait, thistime it really is end of the world. I mean it. Have you looked at the number of skulls on this guy?" had gotten really old. You can only up the stakes so long before it begins to wander into Akira Toriyama territory.

A nice break for exploration and adventure was just what the doctor ordered.

Oh gosh, I am SO glad someone else thinks this way~! The game-planet was blown to bits in the last storyline, there's not much higher we could have gone in threat level anyway. I really wish more people would understand this concept.

I swear by the end of WotLK if I saw one more skull motif I was going to puke. I'm glad there are none this time.

I do feel like something is off about them compared to the way they looked in Warcraft 3. I'm not too upset, though I do wish they were more 'classic'!

Honestly, I feel it's weird it's available for both sides. I heard of Pandarians are suppose to be ones of peace and all, but it kinda sucks they're on both sides instead of working a team as a union.

That's mostly because of their "neutrality" and the fact, that a neutral faction doesn't seem to work in WoW for Blizzard. So the species seems to remain neutral while individuals join one of the both major factions, since single Pandaren Heroes did it too in the past, according to various lore.

As for all the hate, I personally don't feel that it's any different form any of the other expansions adding a new race and class. :/
When BC was announced the horde fan base didn't really like the idea of Blood elves at first, but the starter zones were so packed the first few days my server crashed repeatedly. it was the same in Wrath with Deathknights, then again in Cata mostly with the worgen and it will be that same again for MoP.

Human nature is to repeat itself as one of my professor's used to say. :p

Personally I'm just gonna go with it like I have for all the other expansions, and I'm thrilled to see another new race, and best of all one that can pick which faction to ally with finally, a true neutral race. :3

Seriously. If you pissed off a Pandaren Monk in a bar(and TBH i think it'd take a lot to piss off a Pandaren) you'd end up with a perfectly flat surface where your face used to be and they'd return to their beer not ebven breathing hard or having broken a sweat.

I'm of the opinion that the most vocal types are either bitter and jaded veterans who like things their way or are casual folks who know nothing about the lore and don't get why Pandaren are awesome. To either group, I say sucks to be you, move over while I have my big fuzzy fun.

This makes me glad I started playing again. <3

when I first was shown the trailor for this, I was actually excited... then I remembered this one important fact.. WOW sucks. Still, this did have me tempted... new monk class after all. But no, I am still done with WoW.
