So theres a bit of a story behind this photo.
Creature has taken to running pretty vivaciously in his sleep. He does a lot of kicking with his hind legs. Not QUITE as bad as 'biscuit the sleep running dog', but, pretty violently sometimes.
So here he is sleeping all curled up on his couch with his hind legs right next to his face. He starts sleep running and kicks himself in the face and wakes himself up. I think I died laughing when I saw it happen. Poor baby. He was so tired that he just went right back to sleep. lol

Yes. I just have to watch him carefully and limit how much he intakes at one time. Haven't had many incidents recently. Just one, where I gave him water in portions, and on the last portion wondered to myself "Is this going to be to much to soon?" And sure enough. Without warning his dinner and water were all over the floor. He did it on the tile though, thank god.
I had such a problem with my dog when he started to get trouble with his lungs. He had water in them caused by heart problems. He was caughing water. After a visit at the vet he god pills against his heart problems and diuretic pills. I guess in the case of Creature it is something with his stomack.
Oh gosh that that sounds awful. =<
What I think is happening with Creature is that he's drinking the water to fast and trapping a lot of air in there with it. And then it doesn't sit well in his tummy and comes back.
But he doesn't seem to have an "I'm not thirsty anymore" button. If theres 25 gallons of water in front of him he will drink and spit it up, then drink some more. Rinse and repeat. I CAN get him to a happy medium where he's NOT thirsty anymore through constant monitoring and giving of water, but thats tough when I work and am in school too because I'm gone for like 5+ hours at a time, and I cant come home every 30 minutes to give him a little bit of water. So when I leave I put some water down for him, but he drinks it all before I'm out the door and then he has to spend the next however long without any water. So then when I get back home, the first thing I do is give him water and he feels like he's never seen water before in his life, drinks it to fast, and then throws it up. Then we are back to square one. Yano?

I've tried the ice cubes thing to slow him down, but it doesn't. I've also found (On accident) that he doesn't like to drink warm water. So sometimes I will give him warm water, he will take like 2 laps, and make a face at it and then walk off, leaving him some water for later and letting him know that he doesn't ALWAYS have to drink water JUST BECAUSE its in the bowl. I'd try one of those faucet regulators, but he's an inside doggy, so that doesn't work out since he's not outside when I'm gone. And most of the "slow water" givers I've found where you turn a bottle upside down in them or something, are not meant for dogs his size. Or they are like forever expensive and I'd rather just monitor him. Also I give him bottles as play toys and he gets all exited when he sees one, so he may try to bite it and run away with it. lol!
