The advanced suit looks too....future sci-fi for the theme they went with in the games, which felt like a more plausible, functional suit as they used in the first game

Exactly! While the advanced suit looks cool and all, it pretty much wholely ignores the feel of belonging to a certain type of working environment, that all the other suits in the games have, in favor of just being a suit made for dealing with necromorphs.
I also kinda miss the way you just slowly got more pieces to your engineering suit to add protection in the first game, gave more of a feeling you were trying to do as much as you can with what little resources you had just to survive..

Can't remember if it was the case with the suit in the first game too, but the origami helmet of the advanced suit, how it assembled over your head, looked a bit implausible, cool as it might have looked :j

I Approve highly of this carved pumpkin! Very highly! Seriously, I loved this game so much... Couldn't finish it, had to return it to Game-fly, sadly, but still. Twas epic. As epic as this pumpkin.

Both games are very excellent, definitely in the top tier or horror games, and they just get bonus points for being sci-fi horror, hehe.
