The finished albino alligator mask commission. This mask was a blast to work on. I am continuing to learn new skills and improve my work. I tried out many new techniques that worked well for a scaly creature. This mask includes:
-moving jaw
-resin follow eyes
-raised scales
-airbrushed details
-velcro neck openings
-resin cast teeth
-fleece tongue
-vision out the mouth

I was thinking the same thing about the ovals. And indeed, eyes on an albino are pigmented only with blood - so they are pink in color. Anything can be attributed to "artistic license", though when going for realism, any deviation from photographic quality anatomy causes a head scratch moment :)
The quality of your work is amazing on this piece, though, and I commend the effort! I have been geeking on alligator details just this past month, photographing feet, legs, bellies, and tails for my upcoming project, so my apologies if my comment seems judgmental in any way.

I know the person who commissioned this, and yes, it's a leucistic gator. This head is 100% accurate to the character and reference given, which does have the oval marking you're complaining about, and that particularly shaped snout. It's pretty much flawless as far as nailing the look requested.
Haha, you're getting mad about details on someone's imaginary character. If this was a suit of a generic animal, I guess I'd agree, but I mean... this fandom has purple tigers and blue lions and all sorts of crap like that, do you go through every time one of those suits are made in a realistic style and scold them for not being 100% accurate? I'm pretty sure it was a case of 'hey, this is my character and I'm gonna do what I want with it' rather than 'pfft i unno maybe i saw somethin like that on a gator once but hell i'm not gonna bother to look or whatever it's just an expensive costume'. You can talk to Zyklon though if it really offends you that much, I'm sure he'd care a lot and love to hear why his character doesn't meet your standards.
This is awesome, and I know you where making it to look like the commissioners character.
But really this looks way more like a Velociraptor with some Alligator features, with the long eye crests and upward pointed wedge nose, exaggerated antorbital fenestra and the nostrils on the side rather than directly on top of the snout. But i think the very non-gator ness of it falls on the commissioners character ref , because otherwise this really is awesome looking.
